Multi-Year Accessibility Plan

Introduction

In 2005, the Ontario government passed the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). The goal of the Ontario Government is to ensure accessibility in Ontario by 2025. The Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulations (IASR) under the AODA require that CIMS establish, implement and maintain a multi-year accessibility plan with summarized our commitment to accessibility.

Although the IASR is considered an Ontario regulation, CIMS has decided to implement nationally to ensure consistent experience nationwide and align with their corporate core values. This multi-year plan outlines CIMS’ strategy to prevent and remove barriers to fulfill CIMS commitment to foster an inclusive environment as outline in the CIMS Accessibility Policy.

The Multi-Year Accessibility Policy outline the policies, achievements and actions that CIMS have taken and the work underway to improve opportunities for people with disabilities. The current plan covers a five-year period (2021 – 2026) to alight with our strategic plan.

Our Commitment

CIMS is committed to make every reasonable effort to ensure that its policies, practices, and procedures are consistent with the principles of dignity, independence, integration, and equal opportunity. By developing, implementing, and maintaining this commitment and strategy, CIMS will do so by preventing and removing barriers to accessibility in employment, and to encourage the full inclusion of persons with disabilities at CIMS.
